The basics
+What is MythosPDF?
MythosPDF is a free online PDF editor built on a zero mutation engine. You click any text in your PDF, type your change, and download the same PDF with only that change in it: same fonts, same layout, same file.
+Is MythosPDF free?
Yes. Editing and downloading are free with no sign up, no watermark, no trial and no page cap on the file you download.
+Do I need to create an account?
No. Open the site, drop in a PDF and start editing. Your browser gets a random private id so it only ever sees its own documents.
+Do I need to install anything?
No. MythosPDF runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS and tablets.
+Why is it called the most powerful PDF editor?
Because it does the hard thing properly. Instead of covering text with a white box or regenerating your page, MythosPDF rewrites the text inside the PDF with exact font metrics, reflows only what must move, and verifies every export against the original.
Zero mutation & quality
+What does zero mutation mean?
Never modify what you don't need to modify. Every object you didn't edit (images, vectors, other text, fonts, colours) is carried over exactly as it was. Only your edit, and anything that genuinely has to move to make room for it, changes.
+Will my fonts change?
No. Your text is set in the PDF's own embedded font at the original size and colour, measured with real glyph metrics. MythosPDF never silently substitutes a lookalike font.
+What if a character I type isn't in the embedded font?
PDFs often embed only the characters they use. If you type one that's missing, MythosPDF tells you instead of switching fonts behind your back.
+What happens if my new text is longer?
The paragraph rewraps like the original, and only content directly below moves down to make room. If the page overflows, the rest continues on a new page inserted right after it.
+Does MythosPDF put a white box over the old text?
No. It rewrites the text drawing operators in the page, so the old words are replaced rather than hidden. Search, copy and paste and screen readers see only your new text.
+What if an edit can't be made cleanly?
Every output is reparsed, rendered and compared with the original. If an edit would damage the document beyond threshold, MythosPDF tells you instead of handing back a degraded PDF.
+Can I undo changes?
Yes. Every change is a saved revision. Step backward and forward as much as you like before downloading.
Files & compatibility
+Which PDFs work best?
Any text based PDF: exported from Word, Google Docs, Canva, LaTeX, payroll, billing or reporting software. Resumes, invoices, payslips, letters, contracts and reports all work well.
+Can I edit a scanned PDF?
Not yet. A scanned page is an image of text, so there are no characters to edit. If you can't select individual letters in your PDF, it's probably a scan.
+Can I edit text inside tables and columns?
Yes. Click any cell or column line. Right aligned numbers keep their right edge, and other columns don't move.
+Will the edited PDF still be searchable and ATS friendly?
Yes. Edits are real text in the original font, so the file stays selectable, searchable and readable by applicant tracking systems.
Privacy & security
+Where is my file stored?
A copy stays in your own browser so you can come back to it. Our server keeps a working copy only while you edit and deletes it automatically.
+Do you read, sell or share my documents?
No. Your document is processed only to apply your edits. We never sell or share it and we don't use advertising trackers.
+Can I use MythosPDF to alter documents I don't own?
No. Only edit documents you own or are authorised to change. Using MythosPDF to forge or falsify documents like payslips, IDs or official records is prohibited by our terms and may be illegal.
