How to Edit an Invoice PDF: Change Dates, Amounts and Addresses

By the MythosPDF Team··5 min read
Quick answer

To edit an invoice PDF, open it in MythosPDF, click the field (date, address, reference, line item or amount), type the correction and download. Amounts keep their right alignment in the column and the rest of the invoice is untouched.

Common invoice fixes

  • •Wrong invoice date or due date
  • •Typo in the client's company name or address
  • •Incorrect PO number or reference
  • •A line item description that needs clarifying
  • •A quantity or rate that was entered wrong

Step by step

  1. 1Open the invoice editor and drop in the PDF.
  2. 2Click the field you need to change. Dates, addresses and references are usually single lines.
  3. 3Type the correction and press Enter. The value appears in the invoice's own font.
  4. 4If you changed an amount, update the subtotal, tax and total too. MythosPDF edits text; it doesn't recalculate your invoice.
  5. 5Download the corrected PDF.

Keep your records honest

Correct invoices you issued, and keep a note of what changed. Many accounting rules expect a credit note or a reissued invoice number for material changes after an invoice is sent, so check what applies to you. Editing someone else's invoice to misrepresent a payment is fraud and against our terms.
